Originally from Cardiff, Di spent most of her working life in Lancaster. After retiring as a headteacher in 2010 she took up Crown Green bowls so, on moving to Warwick in 2014, she joined Warwick Boat Club in order to try her hand at the Flat Green discipline through the academy.

She soon began taking part in friendly matches, galas and club competitions, eventually playing in League fixtures in her second season. As vice-captain and subsequently Ladies' Captain she has involved herself fully in all aspects of the section, as a player, socially and in Club Tours. 

A mother of four and grandmother to five small grandchildren, much of her spare time is spent in London with family. However, she also volunteers at Hill Close Gardens and in addition to bowls enjoys gardening, walking, family history and the Arts.
