Warwick Town Triples triumph for the Boat Club

The morning semi-finals saw a repeat of the 2019 semi won on that occasion on the final end by Martin and Sandra Dean playing with Cosette Lawton. This time David and Chris Hurst playing with Jacqui Ashley were able to turn the tables establishing a commanding lead which proved too much to claw back despite a late rally from the 2019 winners. The other semi-final was extremely tightly fought with another Boat Club team of Jeremy Ashley, Di Wood and Celia Bellamy taking an early lead before being pegged back in a very even game. The eventual champions managed a three on the extra end to go through to the afternoon final.

After some rain during the morning games the weather brightened up and a good crowd, including many of the clubs new and older members, were able to enjoy an entertaining final played in a great atmosphere. There was only a couple of shots in it with three ends to play but a strong finish from Wheildon, Boardman and Harvey ensured that they came out on top. It was a great result for the experienced triple who were worthy and well received winners at the end of an excellent day for Warwick Boat Club.
