Peterborough Regatta is a large multilane regatta attracting high-performing clubs from all over the country, including Cambridge and London, making it a particularly challenging one for a local town club like Warwick. Yet this year saw several wins from both men's and women's squad - what a great way to start the summer!
Saturday saw a men's four of Phil Tonkin, Patrick Hourigan, Mike Hourigan and Andrew Collett, coxed by Alison Tonkin win the IM2 event.
Owen Watson and Alan Kan raced in a highly contested Novice 2x event, racing in heats and semi-finals and only narrowly missing out on a place in the final.
Sunday saw success for the women's squad. Claire Hurley and Emma Tod won the Masters pairs in a straight final. Jumping in a four straight after their race and joined by Emma Raynor and Vicki Rothwell, coxed by Tanya Podinovskaia, the crew beat their opposition from Warwick and Maidstone to a victory in IM2 coxed fours event.
